Just know what you are getting into. Just remember if you go for a psp go or similiar psp bundles a wii is only 200, a ps3 and xbox are only 300. As far as mobiel gaming goes power is a concern but then again I've had a ds lite for a couple of years. Especially since cell phones are becoming so much more powerful. Do you need a mobile gaming device.
I have enjoyed it so far. The price of a psp slim is getting reasonable enough to warrant a purchase and I did. What games are you interested in. Just look at the factors. The newer psp's can take a little longer to install CFW than a DS but theres alot of fun to be had with both systems.
So do you really need mobile gaming.
I remember getting my first Psp and being so happy to have a sweet new piece of technology. After selling my psp 1000 to a friend after many months of enjoyment I decided to take a break from PSP.
Final Fantasy on my Psp if only I was still in 6th grade this would have been a dream. I use this thing to listen to music watch movies and surf the web when I am bored.
I noticed that they launched this new and improved System so I though hey Ill go buy one and for the last 2 years its been my best friend, not as a game system but as an I pod killer. Over all this is a great multi media platform but as a game system its got great looking games for a handheld but the library is not there.The only cool thing is the PSX classic section on the PSN.
I have had PSP's on and off since they first launched. It played games had Internet could load it with movies and music awesome.
The PSP 2001 series has some flaws it feels to me a bit cheaper than the old 1000 but it does have new features and the processing and internet capabilities are better.
I refuse to may hundreds of dollars to fix one bloody disc. then the sales tax comes extra. Hewlett Packard also dose the same thing as well. I say. it comes to no suprise. Why are these corp level is ripping off the consumers.
NO EXCHANGES AND NO SERVICE ON REPAIRS. ITS TIME TO PUT THE STOP TO THIS. I got my from a delaer where I live. and all sales are fianl when I asked for the delaer for exhange or refund. Copy the game system. LETS STOP BUYING CRAP. I lost 450.00 from day one on PSP well game systems ,two games and a memory stick. its noted as black market. The support of SCEA is realy bad. Due to Full cost and defective stickers that is done in China the worlds worst manifactor in computer tech in the world.
Just keep it and sell it to some other customer. Well I told them I am no longer SCEA and Hewlett Packard customer any more. all for the power of money and power. I do not shop at Game Stop/Software etc and Best Buy due to this. then there is a problem. Sega of America did not take care of my defecitve produts. I taken it to SCEA for service.
even Nintendo and Sega is just as bad. the next think I know it on opening the box for the first time. Due to my doing my shopping with bad brand names products.I am not allowed to apply for a credit card never the less. Then kill consumer rights is one thing realy ruderembmer todays business ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
What had happend to me and SCEA made there choice to kill the service on my brand new PSP. The games for the PSP Is to total crap. are designed to kill your credit report and finance lost.I Do have a bad credit report.
this handy portable is made in China using sub-standard parts. Sell my computer to some other customer and have Hewlett Packard make the extra money selling the same product twice at above ful retail price. the darn thing is dead. Normaly these days Things are made to be broken like Hewlett Packard the worlds worst Persional computers and the worlds worst Notebook computers in the world.
When I question there sick evel service and pay up or get the hell out. who the heck do I do that.its not a right to for these big hot shots to sell bad products on the market. Fight the consumers on rather then helping out. OK you do know SCEA was at first place with the first Generation playstation 2 now when the big corp level hot shots went from bad to sick.
simply Do nothing and let the warrenty die then demand to keep buying the same thing over and over and over. The request was kicked out due to the fact of making copies of the Game System is not allowed.
The system interface on the other hand is a model of great product design, allowing you to do most anything you might want to do quite easily. The video playback on this device is truly impressive. I initially thought I would use it primarily as a video player, and maybe get a game or two on the cheap. masterpieces like Crisis Core, Daxter, Lumines II, Monster Hunter Freedom, and Ridge Racer.
MP3 playback on the other hand just isn't as intuitive as it would be a full-blown MP3 player like an iPod, so I don't recommend using the device in this way unless it's your absolute only option. And strangely, there are games that actually BETTER on the PSP than on their full-blown console versions. So unless you fancy yourself swapping high-capacity memory cards and doing mass-conversions into the wee-early hours of the morning, you aren't going to enjoy trying to watch lots of complete TV shows unless they're around 13 episodes encoded at low-quality.On the other hand, I was quite shocked when I actually started buying games for the system. I also wish my friends had one so I could enjoy playing some games with them. The problem with video playback of course is that video takes up way too much space at high quality (I average about 150 megabytes for 20 minutes), and has to be converted to be compatible.
Not quite how things turned out.The screen on this baby is indeed beautiful, but it scratches easier than a pair of cheap sunglasses. What this meant to me, is that while I own about 5 DS games that I bought over a period of years, in a matter of a little over a month I bought around 10 games. If you are craving more console games like Wipeout and other PSOne and PS2 games, you simply MUST buy this system just for the crazy values. Most games for the system retail at $30.00 to $40.00 brand new, and can be found used for a ridiculous $10.00 to $15.00. Whatever the reason, there are indeed gaming experiences that are just plain better on the PSP.Now that I've gotten into the PSP scene, I find myself wishing I had a wireless Internet connection, just so I could download some games onto my PSP. Now that's a steal.
I only had enough money to buy one, and I was really itching for a new portable entertainment gizmo. And now I find myself getting excited for portable games that are coming out, like a portable Gran Turismo, and the next Jak game. Did I want to buy an Apple iPod Touch, or a Sony PSP. And these are not underpowered portable games, but full-featured gorgeous console-quality rivaling (or exceeding). The screen is bigger, the memory is infinitely expandable (buy as many memory cards as you want), the battery is replaceable, it plays movie discs should you have the desire, it can play MP3s, and it's a full-blown game system to boot.
Maybe it's the great feeling of booting up a game in seconds without turning on your TV. If you love PlayStation games or extreme gaming values you need to buy a PSP. Just don't buy one new. But even without Internet, the system is an absolutely tremendous value. After buying the PSP I'm really glad it was what I decided on, but for very different reasons than I expected.First of all, the reason why I decided to go with the PSP was that you simply get more for your money. The digital controls are perfect, but the analog controls are frustrating (bad placement, wacky sensitivity). That's on average $10 to $20 cheaper than a DS game used. Maybe it's just the those games feel when you hold them in your hands, and maybe it's the way the graphics scale down.
You can get a used PSP for a little over a hundred dollars. Not long ago I had a decision to make. For instance, during video playback one button press brings up a mini menu and a second button press can adjust aspect ratio (allowing your wide-screen utube videos to fill the screen with no gaps). Lumines, which I had played on the Xbox 360, and Virtua Tennis 3, are both enormously MORE enjoyable on the PSP.
I cannot compare with other handheld systems, since I never played any other. I am enjoying a lot. But the PSP brings me a lot of fun.
